Reporting something that looks wrong on the map? Include a screenshot, the province, and the claim or licence number if you have it — that turns a guess into a fix.
Common questions
FAQ
Is the claim data live, or a snapshot?
Both, depending on the layer. Claim boundaries and tenure details are read from each province's registry, so they reflect what the registry publishes. Geoscience layers — occurrences, drill holes, bedrock, surficial geology and the rest — ship as a dated snapshot so they work with no signal. The app tells you which is which.
Either way, the registry is the record. Confirm anything you plan to act on directly with NovaROC, MLAS or Mineral Titles Online.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no sign-up, no login and no password. Your saved ground, notes and work logs live on your device.
What do I actually get for free?
The map, the live claim fabric, the geoscience layers, the staking grid, field pins and notes, and tapping any point to see what's under it. Pro adds ranked targets, claim watching and alerts, the expiring-claims list, staking history, the assessment-work tracker with its government-form exports, full offline layer access, and unlimited saves and exports.
How do I cancel Pro?
Subscriptions are billed by the store you installed from, and cancelled there — not by us.
- iPhone / iPad: Settings › your name › Subscriptions.
- Android: Play Store › profile icon › Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions.
Cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends to avoid the next renewal. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies.
If my subscription lapses, do I lose what I saved?
No. Nothing you saved is ever deleted when Pro ends — the Pro features simply stop. Your claims, pins, notes and work logs stay where they are.
A layer is switched on but nothing is drawing.
Most often the province's data pack hasn't finished downloading. Open Settings › Offline & Storage and check the pack for the province you're viewing, then try the layer again. If the pack is present and the layer is still empty, email us with the province and the layer name.
Does it work with no signal?
Yes, with preparation. Download the province data pack and the map area you're heading into before you leave coverage. Live registry lookups need a connection; everything bundled does not.
How do open-ground alerts work?
Claim expiry reminders are scheduled on your device and never leave it. Open-ground alerts — ground opening inside an area you're watching — are matched on our server each morning, because the ground opens whether or not the app is running. That means we hold your notification token, the rectangle of each watched area, and the claims you're watching, for as long as the alert exists. Turning the alert off deletes those records. The full detail is in the privacy policy.
Can I get my data out?
Yes — export to KML, GeoJSON or CSV for Google Earth, QGIS or anything else that reads them. Form 10 / Form 11 and cost-summary PDFs export from the work log.
How do I delete my data?
Everything you create lives on your device, so uninstalling the app removes it. To delete the records tied to an open-ground alert, turn that alert off in the app. On iOS, data synced through iCloud is removed from your iCloud settings; on Android, from your Google account's backup settings.
Which provinces are covered, and is more coming?
Nova Scotia, Ontario and British Columbia today, each with its own registry, staking rules and assessment-work regime. If you'd like to see your province next, tell us — that's genuinely how the list gets ordered.
I found something wrong in the data.
Please report it. If the error is in the province's published data we can't correct the source, but we can often tell you which layer it came from and when the snapshot was taken — and if it's ours, we'll fix it.
