Terms of Service

Applies to the Canada Prospector apps for iOS and Android, published by Auriven Labs.

Last updated: September 2026

Agreement

These terms are between you and Auriven Labs. By downloading or using the app, you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.

What the App Is

Canada Prospector presents publicly available geoscience and mineral tenure information — claim boundaries, occurrences, drill holes, geology, staking grids and related records — published by provincial governments and other public bodies. The app is a reference and planning tool. It is not a registry, not a filing system, and not a substitute for the official provincial record.

Accuracy, and Your Responsibility to Verify

Mineral tenure changes daily, and published data is often incomplete or lagging. Claim boundaries are approximate. Availability, expiry dates, holder names and staking-grid status can be out of date, missing, or wrong in the source data itself. Assessment-work figures and fee estimates in the app are aids to planning, not legal or financial advice.

Before you stake, file, spend money, or rely on any tenure or availability shown in the app, confirm it directly with the province's own registry — NovaROC in Nova Scotia, MLAS in Ontario, Mineral Titles Online in British Columbia. You are responsible for your own filings and for verifying anything you act on.

Safety in the Field

Abandoned workings, shafts, trenches and open pits shown in the app are hazardous. Some are unmapped, unstable, flooded, or on private ground. You are responsible for your own safety, for obtaining any land access or landowner consent the law requires, and for complying with all applicable regulations.

Subscriptions

Pro features are sold as an auto-renewing subscription. Purchases are processed by Apple or by Google, according to the store you installed from; we never receive or store your payment details. Your subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and it is managed and cancelled in your Apple ID or Google Play account settings, not by us. Refunds are handled by the store under its own policy.

Free features stay free. If a subscription lapses, records you have already saved on your device are never deleted; access to Pro features stops.

Acceptable Use

Use the app for lawful prospecting and research. Do not attempt to scrape, resell or redistribute the data the app presents, interfere with its operation, or use it to breach the terms of the underlying government data sources.

Data Sources and Ownership

Government geoscience data remains the property of its publishers and is used under their respective open licences, including the Open Government Licence — Nova Scotia, the Open Government Licence — Ontario, and the Open Government Licence — British Columbia. Map rendering is provided by Mapbox under its own terms. The app itself, its design and its derived analysis remain ours.

Canada Prospector is an independent app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or produced in association with any provincial government or registry.

No Warranty

The app is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. We do not warrant that the data is accurate, current or complete, or that the app will be available without interruption.

Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Auriven Labs is not liable for any loss arising from your use of the app — including lost claims, missed deadlines, filing fees, exploration costs, or decisions made in reliance on data shown in the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes

We may update these terms as the app changes. The date above shows the current version; continuing to use the app after a change means you accept it.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Nova Scotia and the federal laws of Canada that apply in it.
